Hello, Well I came home today and found Poser5. Don't know how I got it so fast here in Tn. but I did. I thought I will read the manual before I install it. Going back to the fact it took me so long to learn Poser4, it might be a year before I grasp all this new stuff. So to cheer me up before I install, I came to the Poser fourm and what do I find. Bug reports, nothing but bug reports. Sheesh, The manual is well written, but it will take me some time. I going back to reading the manual, it is not as depressing. However, I hope all that I have learned here will help me. Bill

Well, bugs happen in almost all programs. I can't tell you the countless times I've bought video games and had bugs with them. I look at the box that the game comes in to make sure my computer is up to par. My computer has always surpassed the games requirements by far. Then I get home, install the game -- and it doesn't work. Then after hours of frustrating posting in forums like these, I find out that my particular soundcard, videocard, etc. is not yet compatible with the game, but a fix is in the works. So, I wait several weeks for the fix to come and eventually it does. I guess what I'm complaining about is that the software companies should test and test and test until they are sure the program is at least 99% bug free. I am not in the software biz so I'm not sure this is possible... but in my mind anything is possible. ;) I know that software isn't perfect, but most bugs should be fixed before they even select a shipping date. Just my 2cents.

I came to the Poser fourm and what do I find. Bug reports, nothing but bug reports. This is the perfect setup. I just can't wait anymore to be this childish. "I told ya so." Hey, can we break out the scotch now, or do we have to wait until the Judy complaints roll in? Seriously, why are y'all so surprise? Look at all the bugs STILL present in Poser 4 and Propack. I don't just mean big complex things like crosstalk, I mean the fact that when I click "Add new category" in the face library, I don't get a new category. Or is faces the one that puts the new category in a completely different library? Just hope they fix these before Poser 6.

FWIW, the people who don't have bug reports are probably too busy having fun and experimenting to visit. Also, people tend to come to the forum to solve problems anyway so you'll probably hear a lot of that at first followed by success stories. Finally, us Mac people don't have much to say (but it's still worth having a Mac - at least for me)

I had trouble with the response code but that was resolved in about 30 minutes or less. Other than that, I haven't yet had the bugs everyone has talked about (fingers crossed) In fact, just grew some hair on a P4 figure. Did okay except watch where you place it. She had a nice Fu Manchu as well.

I wanna see the Fu Manchu! I hear they're all the rage in Paris. I'm pretty sure that's a feature, not a bug.

I don't see a lot of bug reports. Just reality. People are actually using it for the first time and discovering its benefits and limitations. I've got it and I think its pretty cool! But it's a new beast and it will require some training to tame it. I'm very happy to have it. -jjsemp
