haven't gotten mine yet---should be here this week. What about models like voluptuous vickie, arlena, boris, etc.. Will these work in P5? Anyone tried putting p4/propack stuff into P5 yet?

As far as I know, P5 is supposed to be backwards compatible to P4.
ronmolina posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 10:14 PM
I have linked to both my P4 and ProPack runtime folders. Everything I have tested so far works. The good thing about P5 is you dont have to copy all the files over. You just link to them. Ron

Certainly seems to be, once I pointed it to my runtime folder. Opens all my files no problem. VV works just fine too. I have found one issue I'll be posting in a few, once I get the jpg up.

Yep, as long as you link to the old runtime you should be okay.

This has been a concern for me, as my current P4 directory is almost 6 gigs. From what it sounds like, I can install P5 as a seperate program, and link to my P4 content, without having to make a duplicate runtime folder? I'd like to have both running for a while side by side until I get up to speed with P5 - got a few projects going that I want to stay consistant looking. Thanks! Tempus

Tempus it definetly works like that. Ron

Oh my gosh, thank you so much for your help....this is great, I will try this now. Sharen

Once you load in any category it will load the whole runtime folder for every thing. No need to do any category after that. Ron

Ron Does this work across drives? tom

Tom It does for me. Ron
PabloS posted Tue, 10 September 2002 at 8:33 PM
But you can only work from one runtime at a time, right?
ronmolina posted Tue, 10 September 2002 at 8:46 PM
Yep just like you can only work in one subfolder at a time. Its just another layer. Ron
PabloS posted Tue, 10 September 2002 at 9:30 PM
Ron, What I meant was "spanning" runtimes. E.g., using Vicki from p4 and Judy from p5 in the same render. I just figured you can do that. Also, does anyone know how to get the toolbars to go vertical like in p4? (Alt-right mouse button doesn't do it).
ronmolina posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 8:11 AM
Yes you can span the runtimes. Ron
