Well I got it installed, lashed together a simple animation from the contents and it works! Damn, this is what I wanted when I started with Poser 4 two years ago. This is really amazing. I know the animation doesn't look like that much but it was just a few minutes to put together and an hour to render.ronmolina posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 6:16 PM
Good job. Yep it works here very well. Ron

Very nice. But, do I notice that the dress is only one-sided? Shouldn't I be able to see the inside of the back as the front comes up?
ronmolina posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 7:09 PM
One of the requirements is that it has to be one sided. A cloth item that is. Ron

Hey, I've been wondering how to get those clothing props to fit. I've tried messing in the cloth room and all it does is screw up the mesh a lot. What did you do for it to fit?

"One of the requirements is that it has to be one sided. A cloth item that is." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What do mean One sided?? you mean the back side of the dress doesent render or does not exist?? im confused

Cant be double sided, wolf you know like in LW you can make a mesh double sided, or have caps on it. Its in the manual. Look under the cloth chapter. I think there maybe a way around it. Just havent tried it yet. Ron

Nevermind about my question, I figured it out (DOH!). I wasn't draping the cloth, I was just calculating the simulation.

OH NO! No double sided is not good. That restricts how you can frame your shots. Please find a work around. (I'm a patient Mac guy. I'd find it myself if I could) Bobasaur (I am 7 of 12)

In this promo of the dynamic cloth, please notice that it is definitely double sided. What's up with that? I'm a lowly Mac user too, so I don't deserve to have P5 yet, but I hope someone figures this out before I have to deal with it.wolf359 posted Thu, 12 September 2002 at 11:44 AM
Id be intersted in hearing a straight answer on this also:-) -Wolf359- founding member of "12 animators"

I just re-watched the animation and was relieved. This appears to be just one of those learning curve things. Whew. That was close. Bobasaur (I am 7 of 12)

hmmm... if cloth does need to be one sided, what happens if you make a second copy of it, invert the normals and parent it to the first one? grymntl

This message is a bit stale but for those who are interested: I went back and did some poking around. It seems that the Firefly renderer has the option "Remove Backfacing Polygons". This was set in the animation and is why the dress back does not show. No big problems with this one just uncheck a defaulted box :-)
