I'm still waiting for mine. Has anyone tried exporting the new procedural hair (once converted to a prop)out so it can be used in alternative 3D programs such as Bryce or Vue. If I understand correctly the hairs are polygonal but controlled by parameter dials. If so are the subsequent renders any good? Same sort of question re dynamic cloth can it be exported and 'hold' its original shape as determined by collision detection?

wdupre and noggin, see the link above on exporting hair from Poser and importing into Bryce.noggin posted Fri, 13 September 2002 at 7:17 AM
EEEK! That's horrid jelisa! Can't see myself using that_which is a shame.. I've never really considered Poser as an environment to render artwork in (and still wont judging by peoples early experiences with Firefly)I was hoping to go on using Bryce to build my 3D scenes but its looks like I will not be able to benefit from the hair room.

Would it be possible to render the hair in Poser using a mask/alpha channel, or saving as png, then compositing with the Bryce render in your paint program?

Yep that's a possibility but to tell you the truth I think the Kozaburo text/transparency maps is going to produce better results. We'll see...haven't got my copy to experiment with yet so its all a bit academic for me at present. Thanks for the input tho'
