The magnets dials multiplied on the clothing item only. They did not multiply on the character.

I don't know if it will make you feel better, but it's not a P5 problem. I've had it happen with hair props in P4, and Wyrmmaster's original VV site even referred to this phenomenon. I'd try setting one of each set of dials to zero and resaving.

I disagree. This did not happen with P4. I used Steffy Stax for a while under P4 and never saw any dial multiplying. This ocurred when I loaded the saved PZ3 (created with P5) for the first time.

You are free to disagree, but I own VV1, VV2 and SX, and own P4 (and P5, but haven't installed it yet). If I had the software, I'd do a screen capture and show it to you. I am going to assume that you are not calling me a liar, or delusional, as you have absolutely no basis to do so.

You are correct kblade. I'm just disagreeing. I have VV1, VV2, SX and PP. I've seen multiplying magnets with VV1 and VV2 in P4, but I have not seen them with SX until P5. Mabye I've just been lucky :)
Wyrmmaster thought he fixed the problem with V2, but it still occurred (at least with me), but I have not seen the problem with SX.
And if you've seen it with hair props in P4, then I would say that it is a P4 bug that was not fixed in P5.

Indeed, and to be perfectly fair to you, I haven't seen that problem with SX in P4...but it's the same basic techniques at work with any of these figures in either app., so it doesn't surprise me. I must say that I was at a loss when it happened with a hair prop. I can sort of theorize why it happens with breast mags, where it's possible to have overlap, or with clothing, where it might be a phenomenon like crosstalk...but a single hair mag? Again, resaving with the new dial set to zero has occasionally worked for me, at least as a workaround. BTW, a very nice figure...and I won't tell Hef;-)

Thanks, but the kudos go to Jim Burton. The figure is Pin-up Stephanie with the SX magents applied. I'll try setting the mags to zero and see if it fixes the problem. I'll let you know if it works.

Yes I've seen it too in P4 and Pro Pack. Real nuisance. One oddity is P5 seems to set my VV magnets to 0 when first loading. Not too big of a deal but still odd. Happens in the figure but not any magnet conformed clothing.

Yes, this is an old problem. I had it infrequently with Poser 4, but constantly with ProPack. I stopped using ProPack because of this problem. I wonder if a Python script or something could be written to get rid of the duplicate dials?

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking. He apologizes for this. He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.
Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below. His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.

Cage, That's an idea. I'll have to try it, but it would be better if CL fixed the problem.

I had the same problem with the Pro Pack. Curious Labs said they were re-writing Poser 5 "from the ground up," but it seems they have written in many of the same bugs Poser 4 had.

I've also had this same problem with Pro Pack - duplicated magnets and NO way to get rid of them even in the heirarchy editor. It does not seem to be directly caused by the mesh, as it is not consistent and not always repeatable - the only solution I have found is to delete the obj and cr2 and reinstall the figure. It may not happen the second time. I notified CL twice about this and even sent the defective files. Both times their response was to suggest that I was the ONLY person to ever bring this to their attention, so it must be me. I've seen this issue pop up many times on this forum, and don't know why CL just has its head in the sand on this issue.

Based on what I've seen in the forum the last few days on P5 bugs, I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that this particular one will not be near the top of the "to fix list." And I'm not saying that just to annoy everyone else in the thread; as noted above, the bug bugs me as well. As for CL having its head in the sand on this issue, I would note that (a) CL has had, and may yet have, a tough time keeping its head above water, given that its rescue of P4 was made barely possible by the Germans; and (b) the P5 complaints have also resurfaced all of the long-standing complaints about P4 bugs that were never fixed, but are more common (and more serious, from a functionality standpoint) than the one we're discussing here...crosstalk...the memory hole(!)...and so on. I also don't intend to sound like I'm ripping CL with the above comments; they have enough on their plate right now without a gratuitious shot from me. Nevertheless, P5 is currently sitting safely in its box in my home. I had originally delayed installing it while weighing buying a new computer to run it (given that it would involve a second registration otherwise). Now I'm just being a coward, letting the braver souls storm the beach, and bookmarking threads like nobody's business;-)
