I just got back from an awesome weekend and had to tell you. i was at Loon Mountain in the White Mountains of New Hampshire at the second largest Highland Games on the East Coast. There were hundreds of bagpipers there. This was where I first heard pipes, twelve years ago. I competed yesterday in three events, one of which I got first place! The points I got yesterday put me in the top ten pipers in my grade. That is about 744 competitors on the eastern seaboard. How's that for awesome? I am flying high at the moment. :^) i should have presence of mind for some writing now, so I'll see what I can come up with for Chuck's challenge.

It won't be long someone will figure out how to attactch a .wav file to their .doc and send that. I know you can do that in word....Hey Chuck ever try and insert a .wav in the word document I wonder if that will work here? Anyways congrats C.

Thanks. I played three separate pieces for three different judges. All Scottish Bagpipe tunes so the names would mean nothing to you ;*)

Well, we have a distinguished musician among us. Contratulations. I'm mostly from NC. There is a big Highland weekend there, too.

Caledonia, I have been a fan of bagpipe music for a while, and have a fair collection. Have you ever heard a recording of Finbar Fury playing the Irish pipes? It's impressive. I also enjoy Sea Chanties and collect them from all over as well. I also have a collection of recordings by 'The Boys of the Lough.' Much as I love those, I am also very interested in Classical Music, especially choral music. Congrats again!
Fractals will always amaze me!

Wow that is fantastic. I had the pleasure of being in Scotland once during the highland games. Quite the spectacle it was. I had no idea what it even was at the time,as I was just a young pup and there working. However I will never forget the experience. Congrats on your accomplishment!!

Congrats! I'm another one of the strange people who enjoys the bagpipes, but I can't imagine trying to play them. I guess we'll accept your excuse for being late posting on Chuck's challenge this time .... ;-)
