We've made some changes to the site and related server names this morning. Hopefully, you will find the site more responsive. You may find it necessary to login with your username/password. This should be a one-time event. We are aware of some issues, but please feel free to report any weirdness in this forum. thanks tammy

It seems we lost a lot of pictures from our gallery. Are they comming back or shall we upload them again?
tammymc posted Tue, 17 September 2002 at 8:50 AM Site Admin
This will take us some time to sort out. Possibly a couple of weeks. If you want them up faster, please feel free to upload. Sorry about the confusion. thanks tammy

Thanks Tammy for the fast reply. Good luck with all the work on the servers.

???????????????????????
CIM_LW posted Tue, 17 September 2002 at 10:09 AM
The site is slower than ever. Most of the things here are totally screwed up as well.
tammymc posted Tue, 17 September 2002 at 10:12 AM Site Admin
we are experiencing database server issues as well. so we are still slow going. the screwed up part is probably due to lack of complete propagation from servers.
cambert posted Tue, 17 September 2002 at 10:13 AM
Would that account for all the 'zero size replies' I keep getting? About half of the forum posts are coming up with that response.
tammymc posted Tue, 17 September 2002 at 10:22 AM Site Admin
probably.
tammymc posted Tue, 17 September 2002 at 10:41 AM Site Admin
Possibly can clear your cache on your browser OR close your broswer down and reopen that might help with all the funky stuff going on. otherwise, it will probably need some time to propagate. thanks tammy

2100 surfers online, and it's pretty fast. Surely it can't last... ;)
tammymc posted Tue, 17 September 2002 at 11:10 AM Site Admin
we still have more work to do... it will be over a weeks period. glad to hear it is running smooth for you. it is still slow for me at times.
Lyne posted Tue, 17 September 2002 at 11:20 AM
1900+ members on line at the moment.. it's very slow but at least it's HERE! Yesterday it was "gone" totally... eekk! Glad there is work, slow but sure, on the servers! This must be such a big job to handle! Lyne

I've got one for you. Right now it's saying there are 2,050 members on line (It's been between 1,970 and 2,050 for the past 5 minutes), so I checked to see if there were any members with several hundred sessions going, and noticed that nearly everyone had at least 2 sessions, and many had four or more. I've never seen that happen before.

I actually managed to get into the galleries just now, it's damn slow right now but it's the first time in weeks I've been able to get to see anything :) I'm happy.

don't know if this is causing some of the large count of members online, but if I use my bookmarked link (www.renderosity.com) to the site here and login, leave without logging out and come back using the link above, it shows me as not being logged... also I had to log in again to go into the marketplace... now when I go and look at who is logged in, I am logged in twice (once for the site, the other for the MarketPlace)... oh, one other wierd thing... if I log out of the regular part of the site and click into the Marketplace, I am still logged in... I was wondering if this has anything to due with: www.renderosity.com community.renderosity.com marketplace.renderosity.com arthur.renderosity.com Thanks!
SkoolDaze posted Tue, 17 September 2002 at 1:52 PM
actually, after further examination, it looks as if I need to redo all of my bookmarks to here... my marketplace links and some others are giving me either SQL errors or showing me as not logged in when I already am... fyi - i already flushed my cache and restarted my browswer... possibly www.renderosity.com needs to be redirected to community.renderosity.com/marketplace.renderosity.com or at the least people are going to need to be told to reset their bookmarks or they are going to see similar issues...
tammymc posted Tue, 17 September 2002 at 2:23 PM Site Admin
yes, we think the online numbers are due to duplicates. we will get this worked out as well. this may take us a few days but we will get it all. : )
Crescent posted Tue, 17 September 2002 at 5:14 PM
The nav bar in the marketplace is truncated. It only goes to Member options then stops. (Highlights, etc., do not show up.) I had this happen with Nutscape and IEek. Also, I had to log in separately for the Marketplace after I logged into the site proper. Nothing major, but still a bit weird.

1366 on line and gallery images are timing out.

You are probably aware of this already, but the tutorial section isn't working. Most of the tutorials give a 404 error. Just thought I would mention it...
Lyne posted Wed, 18 September 2002 at 2:15 PM
I think it is significant that when I see from 1200 to 1400 members on line, the site works "reasonably" well.. but get up to 1500 to 2000+ and forget it, it gets way to frustrating... and has been this way forever.. but from what I understand, if we be patient for 2 weeks that reality might change? I am on a fast DSL all the while. Okay.. waiting hopefully and patiently!! Lyne

we're now back to just two addresses: www.renderosity.com and market.renderosity.com. The community.renderosity.com was just to hold us until the domain name info was fully propagated. thanks tammy

Thanks! The server speed has improved tremendously for me. It was to the point I didn't even want to visit the site was so slow but it's really speeding along now.
Lyne posted Fri, 20 September 2002 at 3:09 PM
