Likes: hair, cloth, face room; new layout; new models and goodies on the CD. Dislikes so far: Firefly. Huge disappointment, slower than christmas, and I have a good machine. Overall: worth the bucks, but be prepared for a steep learning curve and LOTS of experimentation... Looking forward to the P5 store. mad

Loves: Face Room, new figures. Dislikes: Hair. Doesn't look that great and is a huge drag on RAM, render times. Worthless: Firefly Hate in P4 and wasn't improved at all: Lighting controls.

Loves: All the feedback that is coming in from uses. Dislike: Fact don't have the money to spend on a 'bug' collection...so will hold off until the pros get the bugs worked out. Observation: I don't have P5 yet but have been checking out all the pros/cons from users. My personal ob is that the hair is one of the big P5 deals, so far all of it I have seen looks like it is about ready to float off the head. Seems like there is a steep learning curve for even the P4 pros..so might be CL will lose their 'new user base' and hurt sales of P5 due to this and cost. Other 3rd party software dealers may hold off on any utilities or plugins until the initial sales results are in from Curious Labs. Those are my 'free' thoughts...I am saving my 2-cents to spend elsewhere at this point in P5 history.

Firefly worthless? Hardly. I've seen some great renders from folks that have invested the time to learn about the materials room and integrate them with the appropriate render options. Firefly Slow? A bit slower on my machine that p4 but: 1) that's expected with better renders 2) its faster than bryce!

I guess I'm spoiled by Cinema 4d's raytrace engine which is super clean, stable and blazing. Anything slower (which firefly is by miles) feels like an eternity. I think it has a ways to go before it can compete with even Truespace's renderer. Still, I need to play with the settings some more...

I'm disgruntled that Curious Labs didn't incorporate mouse wheel support. Even more than that, it pisses me off that P5 still has only one Undo. What the hell are they thinking?????

amen to the undo call...i mean really people its like having an eraser that is worn to the nub and you can only use to erase an inch off of your wobbly line.
