Depending on which version of the Arthurian legend you read you may or may not agree, but one version says that Merlin repaired the hanging dance (Stonehenge) for the high king and then he died so was buried beneath it, to strengthen the Kingdom for the coming of Arthur. So "To speed the King, to feed the stones, to succour the land"

Great composition, it's nice to see something other than single figure studies. The birds are a nice touch too. Jack

One day when England needs him most, Arthur will return to lead his people through the dark times back into the light. Excellent picture chohole, the real Stonehenge is an amazing place to visit & you captured it very well. :) Rob

But Arthur did come back - and reigned for 15 years and in that time he did rid our fair country of a mighty scourge... 'course, she was known as Margaret Thatcher then :-) Jack

Hi there
Lovely render. You have caught the big skies of Salisbury Plain just right-I live in Wiltshire - Stonehenge and Avebury are very near.I frequently do a "reality check" walk around Avebury Ring- normally after checking with my P5 order.
They are beginning to plan hiding the main A303 in a tunnel and landscaping the plain so Stonehenge will appear to be back in the middle of the plain.
To those of you who have not been there is a rather ugly main road that cuts across the plain within half a mile of the main Stonehenge site.
I can think of at least three places in Wiltshire alone where Merlin is supposed to be buried (Stonehenge, West Kennet Long Barrow and a place called Merlins Mound in Marlborough College)
He was/is a very active sleeper!

a very good scene - but i am sure: the stones and the background are not poser ... ;)

Stonehenge is indeed a very magical place. When we visited the last time I was driving a clapped out van with delux wire coathanger arial, and managed to pick up a London radio station, but only in the vicinty, as we left and got nearer to London the signal faded. Think what you like. I read about the plans for Stonehenge, sounds good as long as they don't do anything to the site itself. And yes Jenay I have to admit to my favourite Poser/Bryce fusion. Now if I can render scenes like this in P5 I will be a very happy bunny when it finally gets here.
