I was looking at Artmatic too. It looked real interesting but then I saw it was Mac only. I wonder if they are planning to port it over to the PC?

I don't think they will be selling to many copies of it until they ported to the PC and OS X. I for one are not going to be buying any more "Classic" applications until they get ported to OS X, hell the only one that still hasn't made it yet, that I might have been intrested, and I don't think I am going to get is QuarkXpress since the nice folk's from Adobe created InDesign. Eovia needs to fix Carrara on OS X 10.2 since the bug it has really is a show stopper. Dose any body here have any idea when this might take place?
Sorry for changing the subject but I guess this stuff it still relevant.

It looks like that software will have a lot of possiblities. I haven't used it but I will download the demo (still using OS 9). It seems very impressive and a great companion to Carrara. But at $269 it may be a bit pricey if someone is going to use it strictly for texture building. memaci

I use ArtMatic and it is awesome! It is made by U & I software and developed by the one of the developers of Bryce. It has a very MetaCreations feel to it. U & I is in the process of porting it to OS X, so soon it will be native! It is awesome for creating animations, cool textures and excellent backgrounds. But let me let you in on a little secret. Eovia is most likley selling the CD version, as that product lists for $299. However you can buy the download version, and all the presets that come on the CD direcltey from U & I at a regular price of $249. So if you want instant satisfaction, tell Eovia to get the downloadable version or just go buy it from U & I software. By the by Eovia was selling this at there Macworld SF booth in Jan of this year. They were also demoing it and vtrack. This is the main reason I bought it, as it was so much fun to tinker with. Eovia had announced then that they would be the distributers, so I am not sure why they just announced it again.... -Paul
