I will buy my poser 5 very soon but after I saw it yesterday on a computer of my friend (germany but english version) I have some questions... We tried to use some materials on the ground plane using the materials room. In the materials editor the texture was looking fine but on the ground (in the posing room) there was NO texture visible... (we could see the figure - victoria - in textured mode but NONE of the props seemed to be textured) After rendering we saw that the materials worked... We tried to make a new blank scene uisng only a primitive prop and applied some materials (bricks) again we couldn't see this prop only without any textures in the posing room. Is that a "feature" or did we make a mistake using the materials room? I couldn't help my friend as I'm only a poser4-user at this time but maybe someone can help us in this forum.

they probably have the display set to smooth shaded, tell them to change it to texture shaded & you'll see everything as it should be. Rob

As far as I can tell, some of the materials created by procedural shaders can't be seen until you render.
