Wonder if anybody else has had a failure trying to execute the service patch that's available today.

No, I meant the 48+ executable just won't execute. Weird.

I got the same thing. I was dl'ing it when they pulled it. I figure I didn't quite get every byte. Just enough to make me think I got the whole thing. Just as well, they are replacing it anyway. I'll probably wait a few days a dl it again then. Mine is working OK now anyway.

This has happened twice to me now - I don't know the full explanation for it, but I do know what causes it. The download gets a 'jump' from the server and can't connect with it for whatever reason. This makes it somehow think that it's finished, and puts it on your desktop. It's a corrupt file - that's why I use a download manager for large files. It happens less often, and more often than not, the servers support resuming. Unfortunately, CL doesn't appear to support resuming :( . Oh well...Win some, lose some.
