Well now and again bits of news that come down the line when I am wearing my other hat (as a senior physics editor for a scientific periodical) make me want to roll on the floor laughing.

Yesterday the Ig Nobel Awards - a spoof on the Nobel Prize -awarded their prizes for serious(these are real) research projects.

I note that included in the awards is a prize for the researchers who found that human presence acts as an aphrodisiac to ostriches - over to you Noggin
