Well, I spent hours downloading it, went to install it and it told me that I haven't got Poser 5 on my system! Brilliant! I even put it into the same folder and shouted look it's there! No good though, silly that it doesn't let me tell it where Poser 5's located....

maybe it's not that bad. imagine what it would do to your p5 if you persued it to take it!

It's OK "when all else fails read the instructions". It said re-install so I did that and it installed fine. I was a bit - well, a lot worried about having to re-register with the whole online thing but it re-installed perfectly, didn't ask to go online, and even hung onto my old P4 runtime and the Daz stuff I'd installed. A quick check of the face room - I'd been avoiding that! shows it works well... Feeling a bit daft now....

Incidentally, thanks for the offer of help Rylan (I just looked you up in the manual!). You've helped create a wonderful app. Thanks...

What? You have to re-install P5 to install the patch, what kind of madness is that? I've got it, but I'm holding off installing it given the number of reported problems. later jb

looks like you only need to reinstall if the updater doesn't see poser5, run it, if it sees poser5 you're ok

But why doesn't it see it in the first place, it's not reading the registry or what?

From the complaints I'm seeing, it seems to only look in the "usual place." Maybe that's why I had no trouble. I installed P5 where it wanted to go instead of in a special folder like my P4.
