I can understand the excitment around the figure and from what I have seen, it looks nice. The problem I have with it is not the figure. It seems to have have taken over the forum judging by the number of posts. Is the Victoria or the Poser forum? I have very tight budget, and it could expensive if I have to first buy the figure, the hair and texture maps, then start gathering props, clothes and such. In the mean time, Poser just kinda drifts away? I realize that I am probably at most one of the very few that feel this way. What I would like to see is the new figure and a new version of Poser. But that is probably asking way too much. Of course there is always Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny...

Doubtless 'Millenium' type upgrades and improvements will be incorporated into Poser Five. Anyone knows who will distribute P5, since Metacreations seem to be concentrating on Web Business?

Butch, just start a new thread. All threads seem to gather some replies and the only reason this is creating so much interest is because there aren't any other really interesting threads--or at least that's how I see it. Diane B

Last I heard, Meta wanted to sell all apps as a bundle. I heard that Zygote and Adobe and others wanted Poser, but I'm not sure about Painter and the rest. Then there are contractual issues involving Poser and Bryce. As far as I know it is still not done.

Who ever buys Poser, I hope that A) they don't screw up what is already done; B)that they don't start charging a fortune for the new versions. Poser 4 was expensive enough. C) that they actually listen to what the users want and not just shove something out onto the market. D) they change the interface and make it more user friendly. I just wished that someone would buy it and start work on it. It could be that Meta is dragging their feet on the sale in case their own plans don't work out. Then they can says Whoops and go back to Poser and Bryce.

Let's hope Zygote might get P5. Ghost Effects do the coding legwork, so offers will probably be made to them. P4 is PRICEY over here, one hundred and eighty five quid, I have actually got mine from the states for 120 dollars, which works out at about 70 quid. RipOff Britain, or what!? Crazy. It's cheaper for Brits to get software from the States!

Butch, I love the interface. I think it's one of the most user freindly I've ever used. A heck of a lot more user friendly than Ray Dream. I can't make heads or tails out of that one. I think Amorphium has copied MC's Poser and Bryce interface in their program. It's very similar. I hardly had to use the manual at all to get started in Poser or Bryce. Everything there seemed so self-explanatory. If I couldn't figure something out, I looked in the manual (useless at that is). Anyway, one of my main wishes is that, if anyone does buy Poser and continue it, that they DON'T change the interface. I would cry if they did. Melanie

I like the interface too. What I was talking about was making the menus float, Making the doc window, able to go to full screen. That's a biggie for me. Or at least let you expand the left side as well as the right. Also allow the user to choose which folders open. Why does the character folder always open first to people? I never use that those figures anymore. Being able to completely shut off the animation bar at the bottom. I keep hitting that bar by accident when I try to use a larger window. Being able to lock on one figure when posing and not be bounced around to figure to figure. Especially when one of the figures is hidden. That most of my problems with the interface. It is more what they could have done rather than what they did. I know that alot of people disagree, but Poser, the program could have used some tweeks before the release. If Meta had, and I don't know if they did or not, asked some of the the users of Poser 2 and 3 what they wanted, Poser 4 would have been a lot better. I also know that a program like anything else can't satisify everyone. Overall I like Poser and use it all the time. It is just sometime so annoying.
