I'm a lightwaver who would like to try out bryce. This is because I've read that bryce has special tools for making trees, and I've also been quite impressed by many of the pictures I've seen on the web, made with bryce (for example at ANS Graphics website ( http://www.ans-graphics.co.uk/ ). Is there a demo version available, and if so, where do you get it? Caron.

There used to be one anyway. That's how I got in touch with Bryce. It had all the options of the full version but you couldn't save images or movies I think, the image got watermarked with demo when the rendering finished. But there was a nice workaround using the printscreen button just before it finished AAing. Try searching with google or check out the corel site

Just so you know trees can't be exported. The only things that can be exported from bryce are terrains or previously imported objects. For example, if you import a .lwo file, you can export from bryce as a .3ds or a .obj file. I have heard that bryce is quite good for file conversion.

Yep, that is one of the big draw backs to bryce. Not being able to export models. I know Bryce is not a modeling program, but a simple addition like being able to export a wider array of stuff would improve the power of the program 10 fold.

Also beware. The demo renders MUCH slower than the regular version.

But the real bryce is slow too. (Slower than lightwave that is.)

Thanks alot, everyone. It's a pity you can't export objects, but I'll get the demo at corel and try it out anyway. Caron
