If anyone is having problems updating poser 5 with the full service pack, you should try the seperate updates. The full update didn't work for me but the seperate updates worked fine. Running XP pro. Regards, Doug

Thanks for the tip. Did you reinstall Poser first?

DO NOT forget to make a backup copy of TPKX.VXD in your WindowsSystem directory prior to installing the P5-SR1 update.
The update overwrites this file and COULD cause both your P4 and P5 fail to startup and yam your PC. Should this be the case: simply restore the backuped TPKX.VXD, reboot your PC and both P4 and P5-SR1 should work fine.

You can find further info at Curious Labs`s twchnical support page.

Happy posing!

I'd heard the same thing for W2k. I installed the pieces separately on my XP machine and it's running much better than unpatched. Personally, I figured it would be better to do them separately just in case I ever needed to restore some figures from the library without redoing the whole installation or patch job.

I downloaded the patches separately and It worked fine. I'm using Win2k. The sepatare download was mainly because I couldn't get the full version to dowload, so I dodn't try it. But I know the separate download worked for me. Someone here said it didn't matter which order you installed them, but I installed the 'apps' patch first and the 'figures' patch second. No problems so far.

I'm on win2k and don't have a tpks.vxd at all. I do, however, have a TPkd.sys version 3. Will make a backup of that before installing the two part patch.
