I'm going to buy another system to render Poser 5 files... So send me the money...any denominations, any amount... PayPal is good... money order, good checks.... sorry, no credit cards. What do you guys recommend? It's your money, so I should get the fastest, best , meanest rendering machine possible....tell you what...you can send my your pz3 files for render as well...I won't even steal your work.

Hmmmmmm this is going to be tough..... Last time I checked there were 31 CRAY machines on the planet. Most being used by the military and others by MIT for partical accelerators and weather system modeling. Since SETI lost funding maybe we can book time on their machines? Oh wait we'll probably need to go alphabetically.... No net rendering support for the CRAY.
EricofSD posted Wed, 09 October 2002 at 1:08 AM
But doesn't a pentium 90 have 5 times the capability of the CRAY?
praxis22 posted Wed, 09 October 2002 at 1:30 AM
Depends on the Cray :)

Speaking of dual processors...what software supports dual processors...Poser 5 doesn't. There aren't very many..is it even worth the investment?

Dave, if your operating system supports them, yes, it's very much worth it. P5 is behind the times in not supporting dual processors. Shocking, eh?

Are you in competition with Save Karyn? She's that bimbo that went into debt and thinks people on the Internet should bail her out. Frankly, I think she's a fake! Tell her you're going to report her to the IRS unless she forks over half of what she's made so far.Poser 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Pro 2014, 11, 11 Pro

Great idea :) Now, how many idiots contributed to bail this person out ? But my ordeal is totally different....:)

Dave, I feel your pain. I understand. Don't worry, the Poser community would never let a quiet, shy and retiring artist suffer with an inadequate machine. uhhh... You may be in trouble.
Dave-So posted Wed, 09 October 2002 at 9:16 PM
not bad..tweaked out max...$2700 but only dials up to 512meg ram..need at least 1.5gig for Poser 5

Our inhouse tech told me there's a new asus board out that uses hardware to allocate dual processing. He claims that any program used in Win2k on the board will make use of the dual processor. I'm off to look. If that's so, then I'm all for hardware instead of software doing this.
Dave-So posted Wed, 09 October 2002 at 11:47 PM
Eric...throw a post up about that board after you check it out :)

Do a hunky Mike, with a puppy. Gay men have more spendable income, and this way you'll get pet lovers and Romance readers too.
If it works, let me know. I could use a new computer too. Or at least more memory and a bigger hard drive.
Good luck, Davie!
