You might try this one.........I scanned a 10 note/bill and used this as the texture for the leaves of a tree. Looked great but for the lack of texture of the other side of the leaves. It also took ages to render so I never finished it. So, how about this for a challenge one day (On the basis that I'll never win the monthly challenge) 'MONEY GROWS ON TREES...'? Regards The Bryster

I think this is a great idea cshaftoe. With all the folks in here from all over the globe it could turn into an interesting collection of money trees. Catlin

I think the exchange rate changed over night...$50 = 32.05. Any offers in other currencies? The Bryster (Chris)

AS - I can see the improvement in your trees, you must have been doing lots of practice in the tree editor. Think I'll go try to make money. lol :) I'll post what I come up with if I don't spend it first. Catlin

AH! Dutch money. How I miss my good old guldens since that stupid euro. The old bills always looked nice. With animals on them or flowers, or a lighthouse. Euro's look boring. My intuition says the 2nd bill is from indonesia or korea, I don't know why. Sometimes my intuition is right. I've got an old mexican bill. Maybe I can scan it too.

In case anyone's interested, I found a neat site for pictures of currency. They're not high enouggh resolution to
use in a render, but good enough to give you a general idea of what other people's money looks like.
Choose a county at the left of the page. I think they're selling the stuff
imagine! worldbanknotes.com.

I've just been told that copying images of money is illegal in most countries. Will do a search and find out more details. Don't want to be breaking the law do we. Catlin

This is what the Us has to say on the matter, when it comes to what the UK has to say I think a crystal ball would be more fruitful than searching their web site. Catlin US Dept of the Treasury 1.The illustration must be of a size less than three-fourths or more than one and one-half, in linear dimension, of each part of any matter so illustrated; 2. The illustration must be one sided; 3. All negatives, plates, digitized storage medium, graphic files, magnetic medium, optical storage devices, and any other thing used in the making of the illustration that contain an image of the illustration or any part thereof shall be destroyed and or deleted or erased after their final use in accordance with this section.

Yeah, so far I got that covered. Don't know about you criminals...lol. Uh, but I'm not going to go and deystroy my computer. These rules mostly apply to someone who is going to be actually printing something you can hold in your hand. But, I had went ahead and put marks on my $50's. AS

Nobody would bother with forging 50 kunas. There are bigger notes around. :-)
