All my freebies are in 3ds format and they're available online. They can be easily downloaded with any download manager, or even the default windows one. However I've received requests from people to zip them. The reason why they weren't zipped was because I was lazy. However I still fail to see the problem. They can be just as easily downloaded, and the file doesn't change or get mutilated in the process. Am I wrong?

Well zipping them will make the file sizes smaller and easier to download.

The files are bigger when they are not zipped. People with a low bandwidth like ZIP-files because they are smaller and faster to download.

true, but that's about it... it's not like the file will suffer any damage for being put online like that :)

Zipping comresses the files into smaller, more managable sizes. It would also making your uploads faster to your site. It's good for everyone, including you. It will take up less space on your server and be less bandwidth used. Thanks for the freebies Tom

hmm... I think I'll just put them all in one big zip :)

Hmmm,... That makes it so everyone has to download your entire collection even if they don't want them all. quote: "The reason why they weren't zipped was because I was lazy" Is it really that difficult to just right click your files and select "add to zip"? You could upload them to your site all at once via FTP(which is good for you) but it would create the "File Size" problem all over again for the recipients. Your offerings are apprieciated for sure, but taking that extra step for your recipients certainly goes a long way too. Best of luck Tom

I'm being a dink, I know it. I'm gonna get around to it sometime today. All the best, and thank you for the kind words, Drac
