Greetings, all. I was just wondering if I could get your opinion on what I could do to make this picture look "better", as in: not as blurred around the edges and such. I took it with my webcam and then worked on it until it looked better... Note: The link is the picture taken by my webcam before any work was done on it. Thanks in advance, -- Illomen

Hi Illomen...web cams tend have fairly low resolutions at the best of times, which can make images captured by them look pixellated and/or blurry...so unfortunately you can't "add to" or enhance an image with information that just isn't there. Having said that, you could use the "unsharp mask" filter in photoshop to make the edges a bit crisper, but this can lead to certain artifacts (such as white halos along edges) With this picture, I think it could look cool with a bit of selective blurring IMO...give it a more "mysterious" look...it looks pretty mysterious in a cool sort of way already. :-)>

Ill, like PC mentioned you can gain only a little back in sharpness because of the lack of "digital" information captured with the webcam. I've been trying to think of some ways to boost up the image that would work with low res (most methods require a higher resolution than a webcam affords) What's the original size? :) retrocity

The original size of the picture? 320x240, I believe... Yep, webcams arn't exactly "great", but it's the only thing I can afford currently. Thanks for your comments! -- Illomen

My first rhought would be tu use Unsharp Mask, then touch it up by hand.
