Hello Please bare with me since I am not a modeler by any stretch of the imagination. I just downloaded the Anim8or software, and dont even know where to begin with this simple little thing I want to do. All I want to do is to take a 2d shape and apply a simple extrusion to it. My question is....what format is it best to save this shape in to import it into Anim8or....and...how do I import it in? Any help would be greatly appreciated (Sorry...I know it is probably a stupid question)

I'm pretty new too, but let me share what may help you. If you can save your shape in a ".obj" format then you can import into anim8or. You can also use 3D Studio and Lightwave formats. Open anim8or and start with a new screen. Then go to Object on the menu and select Import. Next locate the directory where your file is located and then click the bottom dropdown box arrow. Now, selecr "Wavefront(*.obj). Finally select your file and you should be ready to go. If for what ever reason you don't see anything or just a small dot in the center of the screen then go to the Edit Menu and click "Select All". Then again in the edit menu click "Scale" and "Scale by 2". Repeat this until the model is the size you want to work with. Sometimes a complex object may appear to have hole in it, this can be fixed by exporting in the anim80r format. Hope this helps.
