Hi All,
New member here. I am working on a project but my vision requires a statue or sculpture. I have searched just about everywhere and I have been unable to find any props. It seemed to be a rather simple technique, So I decided to try making them myself.
I've been experimenting with statue creation in poser and I am seeing that perhaps it is not as simple as I thought. I've hit a road block as I have know idea what I am doing. Could anyone offer some advice? Is there a tutorial somewhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

What problems are you encountering? Texturing? Posing? IMO, Poser models are ideal for statue creation. A texture should be a piece of cake to create, and if you want missing limbs, make 'em invisible. That will leave a hole in the figure, so plug it with a cylinder prop and texture it the same as the figure. You can create a bump map to simulate roughness, pitting and weathering. In fact, you have inspired me. I'll see if I can whip up something quickly. I'll post a pic back here soon. Hopefully. :) Try the link which I've attached. It may give you all the answers you need.Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.

In the Pose Library there are a series of poses for making figures into statues, like Rodans Thinker. I don't have the program with me right now so I can't give you the exact location. You might want to check that out. You can then apply a marbel texture or simply make the statue monotone, depending on how large it is.

SamTherapy, did you use a transparency map to remove the arm?

8-) (emoticon for Oooomyyyy I sure need specs) sorry SamTherapy!(I think I like your tex equally..and I guess with the procedurals in Poser5 it'll be even easier to do lichen covered stones etc!

No apology necessary, nog. :) I think you could probably get a reasonable approximation of lichen covered stone in P4 with a good bump map. Hmmm... now you got me thinking.

Here's one I did using Bryce. Its just easier for me to construct the scene there. Its the DAZ vickie mermaid tail parented to the gorilla and the P4 woman imported to B5.EricofSD posted Tue, 22 October 2002 at 10:26 PM

Hey! I've got that clock on my desk. Sorry, I've had to much caffeine today. Cool Clock!! I've been thinking of doing a sculpture for a while now. Haven't tried it yet, but I've moved dodads from P4 to Bryce4 and fiddled with the materials so I'm know how to do it, I just need that spark of genius.
