it's got a real vintage feel to it. I like the grain factor to it as well. All in all a plesent image to look at, which may not sound like much of a compliment, but... I ment it to be. -Gabe-

Yeah I think this is very good the grain works well as does the monochromatic colour, the figures are well placed the guy pointing looks dressed in Morning suit! The only thing I would nit pick about is the odd spot in the sky and the horizon looks a little higher on the right. Wish I took it!

hi, thanks for the input and comments. sorry for not putting up more info...was in sleep mode when i uploaded...must have dozed of...lol shot on illford hp5+ 125 with canon eos300 28-90 lens (at 90) using auto settings...(working up to going manual...slowly) scanned from print...cropped and resized, added a little grain then duotoned using black and pantone292 cvc. @danob...i think you may be correct about the horizon...will try with grids again...thanks the photo was taken on a beach near penzance in cornwall uk...these guys were learning to surf...part of a larger group of 6-8 guys/gals there

Well I used to surf there when I was a kid!! was it near St Michaels Mount.

Like the treatment here the grain and colouring. My only comment would be on composition, the guy in the middle is a bit in the middle for me but I think the fact he is almost breaking the horizon troubles me. If you cover one guy up then the other you will see my point. :O)
