The other day I read a thread talking about the 'hair' feature in Poser 4. After some digging around the thread I figured out what it does. Why isn't this talked about more! I've been lurking around here for 3 or so months now and this was the first time I'd heard about it. This type of thing, something potentially useful should be easier to find out about! A psudo-hair room! Is there a tut somewhere? Are there more undocumented features?

Just type HAIR

It actually doesn't act anything like the hair feature in p5. You can't control it, style it or really even change it's color. It's been talked about to death but you have to go back a long time to see all the discussions it.

Don't forget about the other hidden features (that have been posted in other threads), such as: po2: switch to older interface po3: switch it back

'Why isn't this talked about more!' You mean 'Why haven't I seen this talked about more?' This subject comes up in the poser forum with monotonous regularity about once every couple of months, and has been doing so for at least 3 years now. mac

...and AFAIK, no one ever figured out how to do anything actually useful with it -- although I never checked out masasi's FurFur utility which, IIRC, was an app to at least make the polys renderable.

There's also an app to make it into surface water droplets.

If I remember correctly, there's also an undocumented type of light.

Can someone tell me more about how to make it into surface water droplets, sounds cool thx.

The water droplet app should be at (or near) the FurFur link above.

Thanks, I downloaded FurFur and Drops? the other night. Haven't really had a chance to play with them though. All those sliders! Guess I'll have to get out a shovel and dig into the archive to see what they do.

Just one thing about FurFur. It creates HUGE .obj files, so be ready for 10 meg hair objects. It can be fun tho' mac
