It depends completely on your system, is my understanding. More powerful computers can handle more models. My old computer would start lagging after the second or third clothed character. My new one doesn't care.

Even my P4 2.2 GHz with 512 Mb RAM on XP Home started choking after six characters in one scene... The limit depends on many factors: - Number of figures - Resolution of textures - Number of lights - How many lights that casts shadows - Size of the shadow maps - Pixel size of the actual render My scene was pretty tough in all these departments...

Wow that is a great image! I don't know what the limit is on mine as I never have had more than 2 or 3 figures in mine.

You mean just lie around clothed with my harem women and allowing two very -ahem - "fortunate" shiny nubians stand around naked? No way. You think those girls are thinking of the boy on the bed? Nope. They're thinking "how can I sneak out of here early and get with MC Johnson back there. Seriously, though, I'm amazed at the image. Are these all really in one scene or did you use a sucession of rendered scenes as background images? That's a common way of getting around the multiple figure problem.

hmmm... a year or so ago, i did eight michaels, with textures, with my celeron 466 and.... i couldn't've had more than 128 meg of memory. more likely less. i now have a scene with... let's see... four nude stephanies; one stephanie with the maya roll hair (that's a killer), three fantasy villain outfit pieces, and a pair of xena boots; one michael with wedge hair and mcfs and a cape. plus a buncha architecture props and two ex-dynamic cloths (they were changed into static objs when i was done clothifyhing them.) all on my... gee, same celeron 466 with 196 meg. well, it's been going up; now i have 5-something. no, not 512, some odd number. don't ask me. :/ stupid thing won't render with its textures, though.

I'm certainly curious as to the subject matter. ; )
bloodsong posted Fri, 25 October 2002 at 5:54 PM
heyas; well.... it's the first in a series of images i have that are really cool... but i can't show them to anybody because the first one aint done yet! (serial images suck, ya know? ;) ) i mean, it's done, but it won't render. oh wait, you can see a preview of stephanie with the roll hair and clothes, and the ruby throne i made at 3dc's wip forum. somewhere. but enough about me! back on topic!!

Fifteen low-resolution Sabrinas (~3000 polys each), and I only stopped at fifteen because I got tired of clicking the "Add Figure" button.
Vickies on Parade (Nudity, MPEG format, 219KB)
I highly recommend the reduced resolution Millennium figures at DAZ, especially now that they've added Mike and Steph to the stable. Much easier on system resources than the full-resolution figures, and ideal for crowd scenes or background characters. The nine Victorias in the MPEG clip are reduced-resolution figures; I could have added a few more had I wished, and I only have 128MB on my current system.

Love the Vicky parade. :o). Hiram. Its all one image. No compositing involved. Although I pre-posed each figure separately then imported and rotated and translated them into position.

I do the mesh-importing trick for the Millennium figures, also, at least in still images (it isn't practical for animation). You don't gain much from the trick with the standard P4 figures, unless you've loaded them down with morphs.

Here is one I made several months ago but just reciently posted. 12 females, 12 hairs, lots and lots of plants and props- not to mention the building and pool. (contains nudity)Kelderek posted Sat, 26 October 2002 at 6:15 AM
I just love that GIF with the Sabrinas, L_D. The poor one in the last row having problems catching up is just hilarious, LOL.

heyas; well, it's like garfield says: it's amazing what you can accomplish when you don't know what's impossible. one of my images calls for a bunch of knight chessmen, along with the 'real' main figures. i think i'll fake those!

geoegress, I love seeing my peacock chair surrounded by naked women, at least virtually if it can't be in real life! Thanks again to smerc for modelling it!

This is really impressive Jim, but I have to know: why a cannon???? Is this a phallic reference? Hmmmm? Or do you just not like the one with the blue hair?

"4.62", if I remember" That's a pretty impressive "gun", then!
