what is a clost, is it the closet?
arabinowitz posted Tue, 04 April 2000 at 11:39 AM
Lookin good. When I moved into my apartment there was pot growing in the garden. The gardners ended up taking it, but they left us a gasoline powered leaf blower instead. It's nice that you've brought nature indoors. BTW- what's the url for your site?

Fat Trax, I've been wanting a sleeping cat for a long time. I don't have poser yet, but can you send it to me in both poser and bryce format? I'm hoping to have poser soon, and I love cats, but I've really been looking for a sleeping cat in exactly that position. My email is bone@tcac.net. I'll be forever indebted to you or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first.

I wish I could, but distributing the figures like that is a violation of the license agreement. But as soon as you get Poser, Ill be more than happy to send the pose for the cat. FT
arabinowitz posted Tue, 04 April 2000 at 3:50 PM
We're not even alowed to distribute it as an obj format?
KenS posted Tue, 04 April 2000 at 4:10 PM
no, they can only be distributed as .pz3 or .cr2 files so theyre only accessable by Poser owners.
bonestructure posted Tue, 04 April 2000 at 8:18 PM
once I get poser (someone's giving me an old copy, will I be able to use the cat? I mean, are you just sending the pose and the cat comes with poser, or are you sending the cat too?

Fast Traxx, I have kind of a challenge for you. I've been trying make a model both in Rhino and S-Patch and can't get it down. Maybe you can. A 60s style beaded door curtain. What do you think?

okay Fast Traxx, go ahead and send me the pose, though I have no idea how long the learning curve is gonna be before I can learn it. At least the GUI is similar

Your the best man. I've been trying to make that forever. Look for this alot in my new stuff. If I remember to use it.
bonestructure posted Thu, 06 April 2000 at 10:33 AM
Thanks hawk, as soon as I get a clue how to use it I probably will be asking. Fast Traxx, I have a question. I couldn't use the pot plant in Bryce 3. I opened it in Rhino and converted it to a DXF, and tried importing it into Bryce before I looked at the file size. After letting it try to import all night while I was asleep and waking up in the morning to see it still hadn't finished, I looked and saw it had made like a 28 meg file. Any suggesstions? I really need the plant for a scene I'm working on.

Crescent posted Sun, 09 April 2000 at 12:22 AM
Did you try turning it into a .obj? The newer version of Rhino will do Wavefront files as well as dxf. I don't remember which one generally makes smaller files.
KenS posted Sun, 09 April 2000 at 12:35 AM
it wouldnt load as a 3ds file?
bonestructure posted Sun, 09 April 2000 at 1:08 AM
I didn't convert it to 3ds. I'll have to try that
Talent is God's gift to you. Using it is your gift to God.
KenS posted Sun, 09 April 2000 at 1:40 AM
it's in 3ds format in the zip file
bonestructure posted Sun, 09 April 2000 at 3:40 AM
Okay, yeah, the 3ds file loads, but it's just a tiny nothing. Ever since I switched from the Bryce 4 demo to the Bryce 3 full, I'm having problems with at least half or my textures and objects. Most of the obps I had either won';t load accurately or they cause Bryce to perform illegal operations. It's really bugging me. I thought I would take the model into poser and maybe export it as a lightwave file, but I haven't figured poser out well enough to even try to do that. Amorphium only exports DXF, 3DS and LWO so that was no use. I already did the scene I wanted it for but heck, the whole thing just bugs me since the Bryce 3 was a gift and I can't afford 4. I also can't use thornes fairys since I'm on Poser 3, sniff sniff

F3nix posted Sun, 09 April 2000 at 10:41 AM
Bone dont' use DXF's, if my memory serves corect if you convert things to DXF the size triples or more, I always use Obj from Poser to bryce and the like, DXF's are too big and load way to slow even on my computer :P Happy Brycin F3nix
bonestructure posted Sun, 09 April 2000 at 12:13 PM
can you import a 3ds into poser and export it as an obj? How do you delete the figure. Hey, I'm still new at poser, I know absolutely nothing. I don't even know where to put the downloaded poser files I have or how to use them. Hell, I can't even get the legs to move right. New software makes me feel like a complete idiot
