Does anyone know of a programme that will enable me to use 3DS files in Poser 4? I thought 3Dwin would do it, but apparently not. Any help gratefully received.

you can import 3ds-files into poser. (use the file menu). joe

BUT - watch out for scaling (most 3D applications' scale is huge compared to Poser's) - and material names with spaces in them. Poser messes these up, but you can hack your way out of that; see link.maclean posted Wed, 30 October 2002 at 2:25 PM
I build all my figures in 3DS format and assemble them in Poser. I used to export them as .obj files, but I had a lot of trouble and went back to 3DS. It works fine for me. With almost any modelling program, you'll have to scale the 3DS down. The Poser universe is the size of a pin-head. Just use the 'percentage of figure size' option in the Poser import dialog. mac

Thank you all for your comments. As you may have guessed I'm new at this and I'm still stumbling around P4. I got ambitious and bought a CD with a load of images from deespona.com then found I couldn't do anything with it. Think I've cracked it now. Thanks again.
