Has anyone been able to create a cloth object? The cloth prop works fine for me, but as soon as I use one of my own meshes everything goes wrong.
I'me tried different flavors, 3ds, obj, etc. without luck.
I contacted Curious Labs support who told me that there was something wrong with my objects, without telling me what it was.
Anyway, if someone has had any luck, I would sure appreciate hearing about it.
I've been trying to create a cape for Mike legionnaire, simple enough, it would seem.
Any help will be appreciated. -Nando

There's quite a few tutorials about using P5 cloth available now. I like the one's by Serge Mark (Poserfashion.net) and by PhilC (PhilC.net) Some common things that have caused me cause problems: - self intersecting meshes - mesh must be welded to be one piece - capped meshes (shouldn't be a problem for a new cape) - clothes just 'falling off' when simulated (add a constrained group of polys at neck, shoulders or waist as appropriate) - make sure the clothing doesn't intersect the figure before the start of the simulation -- Mark

i modelled some simple things and tried the clothyfying on them and it worked. I used amapi for modelling. But you should give us some more information , which program you use and so on.

I'm using Amapi. I've also tried Max.
thgeisel: if you could, pehaps, e-mail me a simple mesh that you have created in amapi for me to try out on my machine.

As I said, the hi-res mesh from Poser 5 works fine. Anything else, no luck. I just like to know if this is my machine or what.
I even exported this the hi-res mesh out of P5 as an OBJ, re-loaded it, and it doesn't work.
