First: Is anybody interested in yet another skydome prop? There are a few out there, and well, no need to put a lot of work in something noone wants It will either be free, or in a packace with a lot of textures for a very limited price, depending on whether I can GET the textures *LOL* Second: The angel on the pic is made from 2 commercial products, Stephanie and Sharkey's Angelyna Wings. However it is now an obj so it's no longer poseable. Would it be ok to distribute such a figure? (not necessarily THIS figure, just at all?) I realize that people with the proper skills (which I'm not amongst) could make it poseable again, that's where my doubts come in. And btw, the picture has NO postwork, except for my name on the stone. Would anybody like the halo? Free of course...

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

heyas; #2: the commercial meshes are copyrighted, and you may not redistribute them in any form; original, altered, converted, etc. just NO! :)

But... There are figures out there, first that spring to mind are Boris and Roxanne... they're based on Michael and Vickie, but how are they distibuted then? I've never dissected their cr2's but I guess they're calling the original .obj then? or..?

The problem is that the .obj file contains the actual mesh. If a cr2 that is distributed calls an .obj of a commercial figure, it's usually not a problem, since the users must own the commercial figure (i.e. the .obj file) in order to use the cr2. If you distribute an .obj that contains the mesh of Stephainie, it's a copyright violation. If you distribute a cr2 that calls the Stephanie .obj, you're OK.

heyas; correct; boris and roxanne are not figures, they are a collection of morphs for figures. the only way to legally and lawfully distribute a commercial mesh is to encode it, using the original mesh(es) as the key. ie: objaction mover and pcf encoding. but pcf encoding won't do dual-keyed objects, like your stephanie/angelyna wings combo. somebody was working on another encoder, but i haven't heard what ever happened to that... anybody know? btw, as for #1: i dunno. i don't have any sky dome thingies, so... :/
