UN tick basic mode and type in 'Deficon.style' in the properties this brings up the meta balls and stuff
ICMgraphics posted Mon, 04 November 2002 at 4:16 PM
If you D/L the LE (light Edition) freeware version, and execute it, it'll ask you Japanese or English.
airflamesred posted Mon, 04 November 2002 at 4:21 PM
Yep - mind you if you've got rhino I suspect you won't need this

I never rule out a piece of software. Some times one tool will handle a certain situation better than others. EXAMPLE: Photoshop handles layers better than any other I've tried, but as far as friendly, quick and super versatile user interface I use Uleads' PhotoImpact which also has alot of web tools, and it incorporates PhotoShop Plug-ins.
madmax_br5 posted Mon, 04 November 2002 at 5:01 PM
It says under troubleshooting on the metasequioia site that if it's japanese you unzipped the archive wrong. It says to unzip the english part or sumthin.

On metasequoia - make sure you dl the freeware version. - TJ

You can make a negative boolean mushroom cap with Metasequoia. Lotsa fun there. Also, if you get a chance to pick up a cheap copy of Play's Amorphium 1.0 you'll be able to make some really wicked mushrooms and trees and the like.

BTW, MAC USERS!!!!!! I tried this and it's pretty nifty. You'll have to register for 50 bucks before you can export but it's also great fun just to play around.SevenOfEleven posted Tue, 05 November 2002 at 9:03 AM
If you have bryce 5, can use metaballs to make a mushroom cap.

Another way to do it....I did this years ago when I needed a mushroom. Make a terrain that is shaped as you would like the top of the mushroom to look. Set it for solid, and positive. Make another terrain (or duplicate the first one) simular to the first, but shorter, and also solid, but negitive. Place the negitive terrain just under the positive, and group them. Play with positioning until the results are satisfactory. This will work just as well with symmetrical lattices, maybe better. The stem can also be a terrain, if you don't need a curve.
