I say go for it, and yes I think it was pretty successful too. Sorry, I can't help you with texturing...pretty new to this stuff. Yes, we can always use more models from you Rosh. Have a good one! Schnaps

Go for it Rosh, the more models available the better. And I'm sure that, if you UVMap it, someone will make a texture for it Paul

Who doesn't need another sword? Sure, finish it up and post it, I'll use it somewhere! Is it katana-length, or saber-length? No matter, I'll find a Poser-Dork to stick it into! ;)

Umm... it's the size you see. It's ungroupable so you can lengthen/shorten the blade as you like, but I'm treating it as a katana. I'm gonna work on making a sheath for it too. I already UV mapped it, and I'm working on a texture for it as well, and I'll have it posted once that's done. Rosh

The blade has too sharp of a curve for a proper katana, and is too narrow for a scimitar. I think there is group that used a sword like this, historically, but it's an obscure one. It looks nice though!

Well, I wasn't going for a scimitar (I know what they look like, and it would be easily made), but I didn't have a katana in front of me to base it on, so I did the best I could. I suppose it could be easily converted to a saber if you like, but I'm sticking with it as-is... call it a custom katana. =) Rosh

You're right. The tip is even less "flat" than the dozen or so I've seen (and thus more like yours). I guess individual sword-makers allowed for a lot of variety then!

Ermm.. While I was searching for katana pics for the tex map, I came across this one, which seems to have a very similar curvature to my own. It's not exactly the same, but it's pretty close. The curvature's pretty much right, I'd just need to make the blade and handle longer... I might, though I'll probably just leave mine as it is now. Rosh

Hehe.. oops, forgot the pic.

I think I'll leave this one like it is, perhaps post it once I get the right texmap done, then set out to make a better one now that I've got several pictures to use for comparison. =) Thanks for the input, Charlie, and everyone else, Rosh
