Dear Dreamers or Renderositer?!

I am proud to announce that Eovia just released a new product: Carrara 3D Basics.

http://www.eovia.com/corporate/releases/pr_02-11-06.jsp

Carrara 3D Basics is the little brother of Carrara Studio 2.1! It has been designed for those unfamiliar with 3D. Carrara 3D Basics is an all-in-one, affordable package to create 3D illustrations and animations the easy way. Carrara 3D Basics is fun and easy to learn and is packed with ready-to-use contents to jump-start the 3D beginner's creative process.

Essentially Carrara 3D Basics is a leaner and simpler Carrara Studio 2 priced at an extremely low price. While it does not include global illumination, vertex modeler, character animation and physics, etc, Carrara 3D Basics retains many of the cool features of Studio such as Terrain and Skies, fast Ray Tracing (up to 1280x1024), multiple modelers, special effects and 900 3D models. The feature list can be found here:

Like Carrara Studio 2.1, Carrara 3D Basics has an exceptional price / feature ratio.

The product is available now at: US$99.00.

Carrara 3D Basics runs on MacOS 9, MacOS X (native) and Windows.

I think that once again Eovia is creating a precedent with Carrara 3D Basics. Beginners can now learn 3D and be productive with a real all-in-one 3D product for under $100. I am sure that we will see the Carrara Community growing with many additional users in the coming weeks and months. I hope that the "old Carrara Studio" users will welcome them and guide their first steps into the 3D world!

Happy rendering to all!

Looks like the Carrara version or Ray Dream 3D which is exactly where I got my start in 3D. Great to see that they're still thinking of beginners! - Dex

Cool. Looks like it has allot of featured for the money. Yeah no Vertex or GI, and other plugins, but wow for $99 this is a steal. Regards, Paul
