I have developed some sort of problem in trying to download files. This only happens with some downloads. Most are okay, but those that have a problem continue to have the problem, no matter how many times I attempt to download. It does not seem to be a problem with the files I am attempting to download, nor with the drive to which I am attempting to download. When the problem occurs, the download behaves normally, up until the point when it would usually be saved to the disk. I then get the following message: SYSTEM FILE ERROR (1026) Download could not be completed. I have not been able to find any record of error in Windows. I am, God help me, on AOL... could this be an ISP thing? I am asking here in desperation because the problem has come to affect files in the Free Stuff, at 3DCC, and at Dedicated Digital. :( PLEASE HELP!

Start AOL, login and minimize it. Start Internet Explorer. Go to renderosity (or where ever) and see if you can download now. Things will look a little different but it should work. Note you can also use Netscape this way. Hope this helps.

Wow! That did the trick. Thank you immensely! Can anyone explain what has just happened here, and why it has begun happening only recently? Is it definitely some problem with the service provider? Thank you!

It's an AOL thing. I've heard of lots of people having to do that same trick to get anything to work. AOL = Always Out of Luck!

I thought it was A**hOLe, if you will pardon the vulgarity. I did not begin to have the problem until recently... about the time of the Time/Warner merger.... Hmmm.... Thank you, everyone, for your help and patience!
