Got Poser 5 today for my b-day... Tried it out, yup, everything works. Played in each of the rooms, even tried Content Paradise (still not open), had no problems... Am I just continually lucky that way?

Maybe your computer met the minimum requirements. ;-) Have fun, and happy birthday!

It's probably one percent of people who have it work fine say anything in here, but ninety-nine percent of people who have a problem probably do. So it seems like a lot bigger percentage of people having problems than really are. Plus the same people bitch and moan repeatedly making it seem even worse. I still love it when people say something stupid like "I got it, installed it, tried it for an hour... stupid thing is useless since I can't master it instantly so I'm going back to P4! Just like me with piano lessons...

I don't agree with the 1/99 % thingie. I preordered P5 like the rest of you and have had little problem. Oh, some bugs, and each successive patch was better, but I was having a ball with P5 right from the git go. And I got my copy the day after the first arrival posted here. But, then again, I'm on a homebuilt system and kinda picky about what's loaded and whatnot. This is a pretty clean system, even if it is a dual boot ME/2k on the same partition!

Happy Birthday! Since we will surely be seeing interesting things from your P5, do thank the gift-giver for us - especially since she/he/they/it won't be seeing much of you.

Happy BD Valandar. Many happy returns. EricofSD: Just wondering... How big a HDD? Did you lose an 8 gigs partition (hidden)? When defragging, do you see a lage area, reported as a hardware memory dump? .......That's what I had. It was stable for a long time but had a total melt down a few weeks ago. Something to do with that 8 gig hidden partition. Still haven't quite figured it out yet. Any ideas? Thanks, Q

Mike, the thing is, I'm doing full cloth simulations with strand based hair right now, including a few raytraced reflectios, and having no problems.

Quixote-- I had that hidden 8, in my case it was 7 Gig partition. It finally took my Motherboard out-- well, something did and that fixed the partition prob.;? Emily

quixote posted Tue, 12 November 2002 at 2:12 PM

Took my mobo out too. Fried, along with 120g of hard drives. My Win2K was stolen and it was replaced with NT + a beta version of a Win2K migraterupgrader version. NT would be responsible for setting up that hidden partition...I think. Oh well! on to XP. Closing my eyes and crossing fingers... Thanks Emily. Q
