Help! After several attempts, I THINK I have almost succeeded in combining 2 Poser figures in RDD 5.5. (Essentially I wanted to swap the head on Hokusai's Biz Woman #4 for the one on Biz Woman #3, since the face morphs do not work on the former, due to the "wrong number of vertices.") ANYWAYI did the "head swap," exported the .obj file, did the Runtime routine She comes up alright, but is completely green -- although the "render options" lists all her parts, and I can pose and morph her, I can't seem to apply colour, and she has a couple of gaping holes in her chest. What have I missed? kayma@iname.com

heya; you did it in ray dream? that means you lost all the materials, ray dream doesnt save them. the best way to do that is to convert all the materials to groups, do the swap in ray dream, then convert the groups back to materials. oh, and the other bad news is, the uv map will be messed up. :) (i dont have a way around that one, sorry :/ )

You can fix the UV map with UV mapper. You'll probably have to fiddle a little (or a lot) with the texture map after that to make it look decent. I also have a set of perl utilities that do all the renaming back and forth for you.

Thanks for the replies The beauty of the BizWo figures is that they don't require texture maps (Poser 3 figures), but just out of curiosity Kevin -- I've never been able to figure out how UV Mapper works. I launch it, go to the "Open" file to get to a model, but nothing shows up in the dialogue box. Also, how could I get ahold of your "perl" utilities? I'd certainly like to give them a try K.
