Subject: Poser wireframe into Bryce issue

Hey!...tried importing a Poser figure into Bryce without any hassles...However, in Poser I had saved my figure as wireframe but when i imported it into Bryce I was asked to locate the texture and only then could I import...For my purpose I need my figure as is in it's wireframe form...How can i do thatt? Any help would be appreciated!

think it cant be done,you can delete the textures in bryce but if you render you always get surfaced object.

OK, try this: open the figure in UV Mapper. Turn it into Planar projection. Save texture map as bitmap. Use the resulting wireframe as the texture in Bryce. Possibly after tweaking it in Photoshop. Or: Locate "Flesh to Water" Poser tutorial on the Web. And then do the following: Make your scene in Bryce and render it with textures. Export the image. Switch to wireframe view. Export that image. Now, select your figure and click on Solo mode. Go to render things (the triangle below the rendering buttons) and choose Object mask. Render that and export the image. Follow the steps in the "Flesh to water" tutorial. I hope something will help. I'm sorry it's not more detailed, but this is all off the top of my head.

Hmm, you can use a uv-template (a 2D texture with the wireframe) as texmap or alphamap. If you don't have one then, get the free version of UVMapper and make one yourself.

OKay, this is a quickie, done in a couple of minutes. Exported the figure from Poser *3*. Opened it in UV Mapper, turned it into Planar projection (Edit > New UV Map > Planar), saved the picture as a texture map (File > Save Texture Map). Opened it in Photoshop, inverted it, saved under different name. Imported figure into Bryce, applied the texture and used the inverted picture as transparency map. (Actually, you can just invert the picture in Bryce. but if you colour the texture in PS, you have to create transmap there.) Clicked on transparent to tell Bryce what to use for transparency. Clicked on Blend transparency. Rendered. And it's here. Mind you, for Poser 5, you'll have to export and create separate maps for head, eyes and body. I think that it's the same for Michael, Vicky and others that come with separate textures for the parts. Don't know about Poser 4 figures.

Appreciate all of that~!...Pls guide me thru this transparency part in ur last post...This is what I did: 1) Imported my figure into Bryce 2) Applied the UVMapper bitmap by - click on M - Clicking on Diffuse and Ambient. - Clicking on the P below Leonardo and then cliking on the lil' button right above Leo - Chose the UVMapper bitmap and cliked OK What I dont quite know how to do is this transparency part...Pls see attachment for my result...advise!

Okay. After you've chosen the UVMapper bitmap as the texture, go to a). Locate the inverted UVMapper bitmap, click okay, and you should see something like you see here - only the black wireframe in the rightmost window. Click okay. Now, in the material editor, put a button on Transparency in the same channel where you've put the UVMapper bitmap, probably channel A. That's step b). Step c) is to make certain that transparency remains on zero. Step d) is to check Blend Transparency in the Material Options menu you get when you click on the triangle on the left side of texture window. And that's it. But what I see is that your mapping is off. You have to create a separate map for the hair, too, and apply it separately.
