OK, I've been looking at this package quite a bit lately, thinking of doing some bar scenes. It looks like a cool package and it's more in my price range with the sale on at DAZ. My problem is that the previews at DAZ don't give me a good idea what it's like. Looks like a bunch of cool stuff, but there's only one kinda detail render of the bar area. Anyone have it? If so, share some quick renders or thoughts?

It's a major memory hog, unfortunately. It's got great detail, but it's a case where there's too much, and it slows my machine down enormously in the process.

I have it. It is very detailed, and a very large model. You can't use just selected bits of it, so it does take up a lot of memory. I can only use 1 (millennium) figure at a time in a scene or the rendering time is just too long. OTOH, if you have the resources (I have 256MB ram and 1GB processor), it is a great model. The detail is worth it, a lot of the props can be used separately (bar stools, glasses & bottles) so it's versatile. Lighting it takes practice, but it's worth the effort.

JetM I used the LavaBar is a pic earlier this year, called "The Pickup Artist". Although it's nothing to write home about, it will show you the versetility of the product. It was well worth the price, IMHO. Do a search for el_jefe52 in the gallery. Hope this helps you out. Robin

Does the bar have a separate material? If so you could pick the group tool, load the material as a group and spawn it as a prop without the rest of the room.

That does help. I'm thinking it's worth the buy even if it is a memory hog. The detail looks quite nice. Also, might give me a chance to work with Carrera some to extract some of it. thanks for the feedback!

LOL! Hey volfin, when did you see my friends and me at the bar to do a pic of us? :) That's actually really helpful. That's a good shot of the bar section itself. Thanks
