Corel has also already stated that they intend to release a new version of Bryce by the end of the year. See Reuters story at: http://biz.yahoo.com/rf/000410/lr.html

Personally I think MetaCreations needs to be tied up and spider-whipped for letting go of the programs, but I think Zygote will get Poser. I think it's pretty crappy, though, that Poser/Bryce compatibility will go down the drain. I was looking forward to being able to have poseable characters imported into Bryce 5.

I agree! That is a VERY dissapointing result. There will be no corporate reason to increase Bryce/Poser compatibility. What a shame. Eric

maybe we should write Corel and let them know what "we" the owners of the previous versions want?

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

Metacreations said the will make an announcement about Poser's buyer later this week. Are we all biting our nails? Zygote makes sense, but Metacreations will probably charge more than Zygote can afford, they are a pretty small company.

Regarding Poser/Bryce compatibility, remember that Meta boasted when Poser 4 came out that "soon" there would be a plug-in to animate Poser people in Bryce? I wonder if any actual work was done on such a plug-in, and if so, that work could be picked up by some other company..?
