I have been working over the Holiday on the following pictures. I just seem the have a problem really understanding the effects of lighting and render settings.I feel like some sort of "Pixel Plumber" Trying to tweek sceen lighting with a wrench in one hand and a roll of duct tape in the other. I have enclosed two renders from the same scene. The cowboy seems to change with each. I am open for any and all comments and suggestions. PS I admit I shamelessly stole the backdrop from a sample scene Thanks Here's the first render

I really don't understand what you want to know? Your light is OK. If you want some different lighting, try to add spotlights. Or maybe explain exactly what you want to know? Guitta

If you are not happy with the lighting I just suggest to follow Sascha (nggalai) very recent tutorial (see tutorial above or search in the recent posts). You can adapt it for outdoor ;=) Yves

I am looking for recomendations on tutorials regarding lighting techniques ( indoor and outdoor ) . I had a problem with the tone of the flesh on the woman seeming to wash out with various spotlights. I just couldnt seem to get it right. The reason for the light was to bring out more of the cowboy's face from underneath the hat. I was also wondering about any tutorials on scene composition. Techniques on laying out a scene . Whether it be a landscape or a shot with people. >>Thanks
