You know how when someone posts a large pic in the forums that causes you to have to scroll horizontally to read the thread? I HATE when that happens. You know how when you try to post a thumb that's too big in the galleries, you get an error message? Could you use the same code to limit forum image posts to no more than, say 600?

I hear you, PabloS... :o( I have a problem with that too... even in the galleries sometimes, but I can appreciate how it is even more annoying in the forums. You are trying to read a thread and you end up dancing all over the screen, and it does kind of put you off bothering to read (or even possibly help). 600 pixels wide might be too harsh for some folks, can we maybe try something a bit more generous like 900 pixels. At a screen resolution of 1024 wide (seems to be the most common screen res), 900 will allow enough for the site's default sidebar to be visible without scrolling horizontally. - M

If there is one thing net users really hate, it is having to scroll - whether up, down, sideways, whatever. It seems like a good idea. I don't know why people feel the need to post such gigantic pics.

I'm betting that the people who post very large graphics also have very large screens on their computers and they have the idea that if they can see the whole graphic at one time, all of us can see the whole graphic at one time. At least it is one theory about what is going on. There are also some people who don't seem to realize you can resize graphics. And once in awhile you have the original and the resized one and you just plain forget what you're doing and post the wrong one. It would be nice, if it were a mistake, that the person delete and repost a smaller size but that doesn't seem to be happening. And, of course, there are people who just plain don't care. And you can't do a darn thing about them.

My screen res is set to 320x240. Could we please limit images to under that siz?

Sure, why not? Anything for you, Legume. You know that.

I don't see oversize images requiring lateral scrolling often compared to wide paqes caused by comments with character sequences that run on and on with no spaces, like the one post with 214 Z's in a row by someone implying boredom. I'd really like to see a forced word-wrap at about 100 or 120 characters. Pictures I can scroll - jumping back and forth just to read lengthy posts is just plain awkward, and makes it hard to evaluate the posts.

for example; ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ btw - If this bothers anyone too much for the point I'm trying to make, just post a request here & I'll delete this "ZZZ" post.

Point well taken, leather-guy... LOL! Can we come to agreement on a forced word-wrap and a limit to image sizes? :o) - M
