This may or not be possible....I have designed a logo in photoshop5.5. it has a transparent background and works fine in photoshop, but when I try to put it on a powerpoint presentation or document it developes a white background. This happens even when I select and copy just the logo also. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi LaurentC, yes it's possible, all you need to do is:
  1. create an alpha channel around your logo (or draw/create a path - both methods work)
  2. save the file as a tiff (include alpha channel)
  3. open PowerPoint and "insert picture from file"
  4. locate your "tiff" and press okay.

let me know if you have any trouble,
:)

ps. sorry for the BIG screencap...

If the logo can stand up to a "limited" colour palette, you could save it as a GIF with transparent background. FILE-->SAVE FOR WEB - change settings to GIF and Save

Tip o' the hat to dreamer101 for this tip ;)
