I had a lot of problems rendering in P4 (slooow and often crashing), and I had way moore with P5. I have a Gigabyte Pentium 4 TS GA-8IRX, and upgraded it from 128 to 256 of RAM. Now I read on a lot of posts that the problem could be the OS: Win98 doesn't allow to use more of 128 RAM or so... Could You tell me what kind of OS (Win 2000, XP, ecc...)would be better? And, then, would it be useful to expand RAM to 512 or more? Thanks a lot to everyone.

I can't say for certain what's causing your problems, but P4 (haven't tried 5 yet) renders fine on my 1 Gigahertz Athlon with 768 MB RAM and Windows XP.

If you don't want to upgrade your OS, there is another way. It's a shareware program called Cacheman that will allow Windows 98 or Windows ME to use all the ram. It worked for me. Follow the link.marcfx posted Mon, 09 December 2002 at 1:49 PM

OK, I was "out of order" for quite a while and so I had no way to thank everyone who answered my question. I'm doing it now: THANK YOU!!!
