I created some text in carrera and tried exporting it in 3DS, Wavefront, and DXF. The only format that would show up in the file list was 3DMF. When I imported it into Poser the text came in, has a set of cross-hairs attached to it. Is there any way to remove the cross-hairs, or another way to do the text?

'Sounds like you're using a MAC, because I have the same problems when importing wavefront files from Amorphium (or done on a PC) -- they are invisible to Poser. If this is the case, then get MacConverter by MartinC from the utilities section of Poser Free Stuff. It will change the file headers so Poser can "see" the file and also give you the option of making the green cross hairs disappear. If you're on a PC, then I'm sorry 'cause this won't help you and you'll have to wait for someone else to pick up this thread... I think there's an option somewhere in Poser to "remove origin" which will also remove the green cross hair. It's actually the x,y,z axis's that Poser is showing you. It doesn't show up when you render, so it's basically harmless (just annoying).

heya; hit ctrl-i (or object properties) and uncheck 'show origin.' note the object rotates around this origin, so if you want to rotate the text around it's base or something, you can move the origin. (use the dials that appear, you can't grab it.)

Try going to http://armanisoft.ch/webdesign/default.htm Look into his "free" 3d Font Maker called "Elefont" Its free and it has a great GUI interface. It created great DXF models for a small program. Worth a look.

Thanks anyhow, Just checked it out. But they say "They don't program Mac's. No wonder they have to give it away for free.
