I have Poser 4.0 and ProPack with all the latest updates. I have purchased Victoria Orc. However, when I try and load the figure it keeps asking me to find the VicHeadBump.bum. I point it to the only available file VicHeadBump.jpg and it comes back asking for the same file. I have tried just renaming the .jpg to .bum but then it comes back with 'missing file'. Can you help? Many Thanks in advance.

Hi Dannii, The problem with "missing" files is that they will be asked for on every material that uses them. On Victoria there are twenty or so material zones, some head, some body. Net result you have to keep on clicking! What you did clicking the JPEG to replace the BUM is the right thing but you have to keep on doing it for every requested file, just read the .BUM filename it wants and click the equivalent JPEG, and repeat until it stops asking. Its repetitive but once youve done it once you can save over the original character and it won
t happen again. Failing this you need to open the JPEG in a paint package, save it out as a .BMP file and rename that as .BUM. JPEGs are compressed, BUMs aren`t hence your error messages after renaming it. Hope this solves it :) Mark

Well, there is one other option. you can bring up a figure you know has no bumps to worry about -- load all the bumps in the Victoria Orc, the prog will ask if you want it to change them to Bum, say yes, and they are ready to use with her whenever you wish. Emily

queri, the pro pack doesn't convert jpgs to bums any longer. Dannii the easiest solution to your problem is to open the CR2 in a text editor & change the bum references to jpg.

Hi Queri, That is certainly true in Poser 4 but PoserProPack defaults to JPEGs and doesn`t ask. A bummer, that should perhaps have been an option for backwards compatibility.

Hooray a crosspost, my first? Coolerssolution works but do it on a copy! If you delete what you shouldn
t and a re-install of the figure is required. Best done on a word search , only needs Wordpad or similar.

There should be a ProPack version of the file that has the jpg in it ... I know I specifically made one for that. They all have the PP after it. Hope that helps.

By the way, poses for the Daz Gorilla work great with the Orc (there are some free at the Daz Free Archive). You can in fact use the Gorilla textures but the hands don't work (OK for faces though). Elgyfu
