Started playing with this idea last night, and ended up staying awake way to late. Guess I'll pay for that today.

At any rate... I know it is still pretty of rough, but thought I would share it anyway.

It looks nice. I keep staring at those "black lines". Like it's been outlined, but only here and there. Is that a blur of the head blown up in the background?

The sculpture belongs to a graphic artist friend of mine. (yes despite popular beliefs I do actually have some friends) She asked me to photograph it so she could use the shots in a Christmas card design. Of course I now have the shots also to play with as I see fit. The BG is a different shot of the statue that had focused just on it's head and hands...

really nice!! I'd say that was worth staying up late for!

If anyone saw the previous post (the one that I have deleted now), you can disregard it. It was really nothing more than a step along the way.

However, this is now getting closer to what the final image will be. I still think it is missing an element, but I haven't been able to decide on what that is yet. At any rate, this is getting much closer.

Hey, Alpha, I like the colors in the last one better than the one you deleted. But I wish I could see the entire wing. Actually the size of the statue and the cropping in the deleted pic worked for me, too. Kachink-kachink! (two cents hehe) (*
