Hey JedV I've got a problem. Those pictures of the chairman I took from the satellite didn't come out to well. I can see him sitting at the table, and it looks like he's got a bunch of ministers with him...they're all looking at something that looks like a map but the resolutions bad what can I do to clear it up.

tjames posted Fri, 13 December 2002 at 11:05 AM

How about if I used my handy dandy inference filter...I got the shine off their shoes ok but that hats gotta go. The boss wants to see it so clear...he wants to see the color of the chairman's eyes...It could be wa ya know everyone's all in twitters her at the palace. I even heard they were gonna break some of the old guys out of retirement for some special recon.

How wide is the spectrum on your satellite? See if you can isolate the signal on the blue end, and if you have anything beyond the visible range, say in the UV band, perhaps the smaller wavelength can improve your resolution a tad. If you still want a color image, you can composite the detail you pick up back into the original, I suspect.

I don't know... the dang thing keeps drifting. I called up to New Hampshire and the lady said Bing wasn't singing there yet. I should have something later this evening though. The boss says if we can get the map in we might be able to stop him in his tracks. I think the UV band might be my best bet if I can just keep my genlock thanks mysteri.

JedV I just got the first printout of that picture...Ya wanna see what you can do with it?

I just hope there's time to find out what he's got planned...

Lady from NH said Bing will probably be there on Wednesday.

The Merlin has just indicated that Sol has a lot of freckles. You probably need to do a bandbass with the low at 500mhz and the high at 2.2Ghz with a phase 90 inversion and genlock set to maximum. Any clearer yet?

tjames posted Mon, 16 December 2002 at 3:42 PM

I dunno it's gonna take a while to preprocess this. My bandpass filter is real slow.

Crescent posted Mon, 16 December 2002 at 8:37 PM

The filter takes so long because it has to create the formula to correct every pixel compared to the surrounding pixels. Just run the filter interlaced - every odd line corrected and run an average off the corrections on the odd lines for the even lines. (I.e. average the corrections used on lines 1 and 3 and apply to line 2.) It will greatly speed up the filter time because it's not calculating every line. If you need a copy, I can pop over the averaging program to run after the filter is done. (Just make sure to buy a legit copy later and put it to your cost center.) Someone has reserved the conf. room on the top floor all this week, so you know what that means!

Ouch heads are gonna roll. Where's the old man?

tjames posted Tue, 17 December 2002 at 11:58 AM

Gee's thanks guys for all your help. The picture took a couple of hours to develop because the genlock had the signal 180degrees out of phase. I still havent got the map though. Here's what I have so far...See what I mean that hat's gotta go

Woowoowoowoowoo! Ruff! Ruff!

Caledonia posted Wed, 18 December 2002 at 7:49 AM

"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas..." The snowflakes are flying up here in New England and Bing's dreams look to be coming true.

tjames posted Wed, 18 December 2002 at 7:58 AM

Oh oh...Jed there's not much time the go order's been given but I don't know what time we have to hurry. Jed, Jed are you still with us?

Caledonia posted Wed, 18 December 2002 at 8:00 AM

Oh my! This mornings reports have just come in. Snow is predicted to accumulate up to 8 inches by mid afternoon. By the looks of things out the window, I expect that their calculations are a bit conservative. Recon is going to have trouble tonight.

Caledonia posted Wed, 18 December 2002 at 8:02 AM

Jed is going to have a bit of trouble. Should we send reinforcements?

ChuckEvans posted Wed, 18 December 2002 at 9:16 AM

No reinforcements. Wait it out by sitting in the CHAIR, MAN.

jagill posted Wed, 18 December 2002 at 2:28 PM

The old man lost his spectacles again and mistook Viagra for Zocor. The good news is he'll be able to confirm the accumulation.

tjames posted Wed, 18 December 2002 at 5:50 PM

Hey Jed glad to she she didn't get to you last night. R2B is one deady grandma. You be sitting there smoozing and the next thing you know your about 12 layers under. I think I'm getting a read on that map, I increased the amplification and ran a coded mask over the area Jed what was that code you sent me? seems to be coming up with something. I'll know in a couple hours.

tjames posted Wed, 18 December 2002 at 9:36 PM

This can't be right. Jed was gotcha part of that code you sent me. Its after eight and its definitely snowing in New Hampshire. I've heard the old man is outside playing football not in the conference room. Jed I can't believe that people are dying for this...

mysteri posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 2:24 PM

Merlin said he could see clearly last night, but I didn't have a chance to check in and contact you. So that's the best you can do so far? To be honest, when you first said it seemed they were looking at a map, I was a bit suspicious. Knowing these guys, I thought there might be more to it.

ChuckEvans posted Fri, 20 December 2002 at 10:08 PM

I think it's a cruel hoax. Even a tinker wouldn't give a tinker's damn. Foolish among you. Why look at the ruse and confuse? You snooze, you lose! Look at the clues (and I'm NOT just being the Blues Clues). Just as the raven quoth nevermore, I shall cease to fall victim. We've been led down the wrong path, dammit, Jim. I'm just a doctor NOT a magician! Still missing in action, brains above? Then look closely at the swastikas and you will see they are reversed. And so is our course. We've been duped!

tjames posted Sat, 21 December 2002 at 8:53 AM

And there you have it... the call for a surgical air strike the old man is po'd he doesn't believe the chairman has been telling the truth and has said that unless there's proof that he's going to do nothing it's going to be today. JedV send me the code key again. This could be our last chance.

tjames posted Sat, 21 December 2002 at 8:05 PM

I on it Jag whats it like on the ground over there?

tjames posted Sun, 22 December 2002 at 5:53 AM

Hey it worked oh....I dont believe it, its not a map. A million- man army ready to fight; You say rockets and bombs I have in store; You could be invading, maybe this night; Insinuating I only want war; I bought treatment plants just for the water; I sat helplessly the bugs ate our grain; Terrorist rockets just killed my daughter; Though Im not angry, I dont feel the pain. Im old and Im tired and I must confess; People go hungry, but not by design; You want it so bad, then you take this mess; So long, adios, I quit, I resign. In Bugtussle where Ill only shoot food With my buddy Jed so far from the crude. With that little ditty our story must end; Sorry Jed jokes on youMerry Christmas my friend.
