Hi Everyone I am now donating the Difference Engine no 2 I made for HMS Babbage and surprisingly it was harder to make than the Analytical engine (which was originally more complicated when Babbage made it but I am not nearly as clever as Babbage) This will work with Windows xp,Vista,7 and Mac OSX Snowleopard (Not OSX Lion because it is now incompatible with Bryce) I can also confirm it will probably not work on Linux. The Difference 2 is yours to use commerically as long as you say Karl Garnham Made the Engine in Bryce 6.3Thanks Hope you like Difference Engine NO 2Karl

Thanks Tholian You are in a way right there was no hardware I think you could only program them using different valves on the engine. Thanks for you kind comments Karl

It's my understanding that Ada was writing programs without the hardware to check them on. I also understand that they were excellent for what they were.

Thanks dmpljr Yeah your right Ada Lovelace helped him out a lot in my opinion if Babbage is father of the programmable computer than Ada Lovelace is definately the Mother she even wrote an algorithm for the Analytical engine but it was never used. Cheers Karl

Another great model, thanks >>"but I am not nearly as clever as Babbage" Ah well, he had Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace, to encourage him...
