Because you always wanted one!The stand was created in C4D 9.1 and put together in Poser 7.2. It was NOT tested in Poser 4, 5, or 6 nor was it tested in DAZ Studio. However, any the model should be importable into any software which can handle the .OBJ format. Materials are a combination of Poser procedural and textural. Necessary maps may be found in the Runtime/Textures/MW folder. Umbrellas NOT included.And, go ahead, live a little, think outside the box: Re-scale this sucker and use it for a pencil holder or use several of varied sizes for flower pots or put three huge in ones in a bedroom just to keep your characters awake all night...For use in personal or commercial 3D renders. I knew nothing of the history of the real item and just thought when saw it it is something that funky arty furniture store may have came up with recently, so matter of perspective I guess.

I tend to agree with Event, this is in quite poor taste. Like Gorilla hand ash trays they kind of make me squirm to think why anyone would want to have an item like this real or virtual. But to each his own I guess. I'd probably prefer a poachers foot paper weight next time you get the urge to make something :D

This was a classic item used in upper-class and upper-middle-class homes in America and Europe from about the turn of the century and well into the 1940's. 1) I didn't kill anything, 2) I didn't start the fad in the first place, 3) Elephant foot umbrella stands exist no matter what you and I think about them. Try doing a web search on them and feel free to feast on the images. This is like saying someone shouldn't create a handgun because you or I don't like handguns...

I am sorry to say that I'm kind of shocked, living in Uganda, almost all living elephants have been killed for ivory this type of souvenir... As an old Poser artist for around 10 years I for sure appreciate any freebie and the effort put in it and the generosity to share it, but this one ...
