Hello, my name is John. I'm a graduate of several Level 2 (Advanced) courses at my local community College for CAD technical illustration, and 3D modeling for graphic design and 3d printing. I'm also interested in becoming a certified Autodesk 3dsmax instructor, and have been studying 3D modeling for several years. My primary focus and interest is in exploring digital art through parametric and generative 3D modeling, geometric design, and mathematical aesthetic.
I'm passionate about 3D modeling, mesh topology, and CAD. In particular, techniques and workflow related to the creation of three-dimensional objects in virtual space, for virtual design or 3D print. I consider 3d modeling an art form, and believe technique is as important as aesthetic for producing quality models that are widely compatible, and useful for nearly any computer graphics purpose.
I hope you enjoy viewing my gallery, and using my models, and please do not hesitate to contact me to chat about design, 3D modeling, or just drop a note to say hi.

This detailed, antique street lamp is available as a .max scene file, and is compatible with 3dsmax 2012 or higher. The model comes complete with high detail texture maps for every necessary material channel, for the most control over your resulting render. There is a custom diffuse (color), bump, and specular map for each part, and also an additional glossiness map to control reflections on the metal parts, and an illumination control map for the glass parts, if you wish to use it. I have also included the UV template maps for the banner and glass parts of the model, in case you wanted to create your own custom textures for those parts in an image editor. The model consists of 30,160 polygons, ALL quads, and 30,397 verts. Each texture map is provided in maximum quality JPG format, with resolution of 2048x2048 pixels, and is suitable for extremely close-up rendering. The UV's were carefully unwrapped to minimize distortion, and all parts of the model could easily accept custom procedural textures or materials. If you need any help setting up the extra textures that are included with this model in your rendering application, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'll do my best to help you achieve the optimum render quality for this object. You are free to use or modify this model as you see fit for your own projects or scenes; it's great as a decorative outdoor lighting prop, but can also fit into a great many variety of scenes. The only limit is your imagination. As with all my freebies, this model can be used for both commercial and non commercial renders. You may not, however, resell these objects, or any derivative of them; individually, or as part of a package/set.
